Das Microsoft ASP.NET Team hat nun die Roadmap zu .NET 7 veröffentlicht. Der Release ist für November 2022 geplant.

Die für mich wichtigsten Punkte:
- HTTP 3 - auch wir in der ASP.NET Core Welt haben nun die Möglichkeit HTTP3 zu nutzen bzw. um uns auf HTTP3 vorzubereiten - ja, obwohl viele Dienste bis heute kein HTTP2 unterstützen. HTTP3 wird standardmäßig aktiviert und abwärtskompatibel sein.
- Rate Limit for Kestrel - wir bekommen (endlich) eine Möglichkeit Rate Limit auf Applikationsebene umzusetzen, und das ohne eigenen Code zu schreiben. Dabei soll es ein Standardverhalten geben wie auch eigene Implementierungen möglich machen.
- Output Caching - man kann es kaum glauben aber ja, wir haben heute kein Output Caching. Das bekommen wir nun.
- OpenAPI Support
- Endpoint Filter
.. und viele weitere Dinge rund um Orleans, Razor, MVC und ganz besonders Blazor. Auch die Minimal APIs, die als riesen Revolution angekündigt wurden aber doch eher eine Ernüchterung im Alltag ausgelöst haben, bekommen mehr Unterstützung, die in der MVC-Welt schon lange Standard sind. Vielleicht werden Minimal APIs dann Production Ready ;-)
